How to change favicon for media files
-
Hi everyone. I have uploaded a PDF document to Media and paste the media URL on one of the buttons on my page. The purpose is to redirect my audience to view / download the document. However, when the document is opened on a new window tab, the favicon of that document does not align with my company logo, and it shows Hostgator’s favicon. Any expert has any solution to changing the favicon of all media files?

Hi there,
If you see Hostgator’s favicon, it’s likely that you’re not talking about a site hosted on WordPress.com.
What is the URL of the site you’re working on? If it is hosted on Hostgator, I’d suggest asking for help at the community forums on https://wordpress.org/support/forums/. Folks there have more experience with self-hosted WordPress sites. Here, we can only help with sites hosted on our platform, which is quite different from WordPress.org.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.
I hope that helps :)

Hi there. Appreciate your reply! I have set up my account on WordPress.org but I am facing difficulty in posting my questions as no button was there for me to initiate it. Would you be able to guide me thru this?

We can try to help. :)
Can you tell us which specific WordPress.org forum you are trying to post in?
