How to change follower into author

  I need to change a follower to an author on my blog. I had the follower unsubscribe but WordPress won’t let me invite them as an author saying they already have a role on the site.

  I want the invite to go to the same email address (work, not personal). Help, please!

  Is this specific follower still in your “Past Invitations” table?

  No, the person does not show up in the table. I’m assuming this is because the person is/was a “follower.” She never showed up there.

  You can try inviting me as an author and see if you still face the same problem.
  Of course you can revoke the invitation once everything works well

  I am having the same problem…I actually originally sent an invitation to her to be an author, but when she accepted and created a username, etc., it only seemed to register her as a follower. I have resent the invitation multiple times, but that didn’t work (didn’t even show up in her email). Can she request to become an author? Do I need to delete her and start all over? Help…
