How to change font colour BACK to default shade of black/gray

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear support staff:

    I would like to change the font colour BACK to the default shade of black/gray, specifically in these areas:
    1. top menu
    2. post titles (there’s a discrepancy between the black in the post titles under ‘LISTEN’ compared to those under ‘FEATURES’. I think the shade under ‘LISTEN’ is the default shade)
    3. all hover-overs

    Many thanks in advance
    AC

    Partly answered here:

    But now you’ve modified your question. Or haven’t you?
    Better not start new threads on the same questions please.

    Yes, I did modify my question hence started a new post.

    Your answer to my previous post helped solve #1 to my question above.

    Could you help with #2 and #3?

    With regards to #2, I’m convinced there’s a discrepancy because I had previously applied a code to make all blog titles black (which turned out to be a slightly deeper shade than the default black)

    With regards to #3, I’d like to rid the green in the hover. I believe the default is a something of a bold gray.

    My trouble is I don’t know how to access these colour codes. Otherwise I might be able to solve them myself.

    Thanks again.

    To clarify what I want to do, please see link below.

    Notice in that site, the menu, post/page titles, and hovers are all of that default shade of black/gray. I’d like my current site (atomicheartradio.wordpress.com) to ‘return’ to this default shade.

    The shade discrepancy is more apparent when viewed on a mobile device.

    Thanks for taking the time.

    I think I’ve just solved the problems above by digging into the colour codes. The above problem is resolved for now. Thanks.

    You’re welcome, but I don’t see how the problem is resolved (for example, the post titles on your category pages are still the wrong color). If you want the default colors back, start by deleting all the color rules from your CSS editor.

    You’re right. It’s not completely resolved.

    I’m not sure what you mean by ‘deleting all the color rules from your CSS editor’

    I figure I’m just going to change the colour of my post titles by changing the colour codes in the CSS editor. My problem was that I didn’t like that my post titles were deep black. But now that I know how to modify that, I’m ok.

    You’ve added these:

    .site-header h1 a, .site-header h2 {
        color: #48EAA4;
    }
    .entry-header .entry-title a {
        color: #000000;
    }
    .entry-header .entry-title a:hover {
        color: #48EAA4;
    }
    .main-navigation a, .main-navigation li a {
        color: #858D8E;
    }
    .main-navigation a:hover, .main-navigation li a:hover {
        color: #48EAA4;
    }

    If you want the default colors back, delete all the above.
