How to Change Home Page Excerpt When Sharing To Facebook

    I just made my new site and I want to share it on Facebook, but whenever the link is shared on Facebook there is just a blank square with “serpyllum.com” and “This is the home page’s excerpt” next to it.

    1) How do I change the excerpt? I went to my Pages, clicked on Edit for the Home page, and under More Options I changed the excerpt from “This is the home page’s excerpt” to “Welcome to the home of Serpyllum”. Does it take a while for this change to appear when the URL is shared to Facebook? So far the text still shows up as “This is the home page’s excerpt”.

    2) How do I get an image/thumbnail to show up when people share the homepage URL on Facebook?

    I couldn’t find the answers in the Help section or elsewhere in the forum, I’d really appreciate some help! Thank you so much!
