  how can I change the width of my logo header to cover the full width of the page above the menu

  The header image already covers the entire width of the theme. However, the text within your header image doesn’s take up all the width space, if that is what you mean: http://thesdiet.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/cropped-extended-for-blog.jpg

  You can edit the image on your computer and then re-upload it.
