How to change my admin email in WordPress
-
I went to Settings > General > changed the admin email Then it sent a confirmation email, but the link that was in the email was just text, no ‘blue’ link, so I copied and pasted the link in manually and it just went to my site with a 404 error message. Went back to settings and my email still hadn’t changed, but it did say it had sent a confirmation email. So is this a problem with wordpress automation systems or am I doing something wrong or what? Is there another way to change my admin email? I’m trying to get my contact form to send customer’s messages to my email instead of the generic ip server generated email that goes nowhere… Oh and if anyone knows how to access that ip server email that is there by default I would love to know. Probably tons of clients that sent an email into limbo in there. Chow.

Hi there, it looks like your site at phoenixheattechnology.com is using the standalone WP software and is not hosted here on WordPress.com.
Just to clarify, this support forum assists users of WordPressdotcom hosted sites and the guidance provided here may not be relevant to DIY WordPress.org sites hosted with an external hosting provider (e.g. Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.). If you need help with a site using the open source WP (org) software you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they likely have more experience with the type of issue you are having.
