how to change my domain name

  Hi, I have recently decided to change my business name- in the midst of branding- and wanted to change my domain name. Could you help me with this please?

  Hi there,

  Sure thing! Unfortunately domains cannot be changed, however you can purchase a new domain and cancel the old one (or keep it in place until it expires, so your site is reachable at both addresses).

  To buy a new domain, you just need to log in to your account at WordPress.com and then click on My Sites >> Upgrades (at the bottom on the left) >> My Upgrades >> Domains >> Register a New Domain.

  Once you have the new domain, you can set it to be the primary one (the one that stays in the location bar when someone visits your site) by following the directions right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/domains-settings/#changing-your-primary-domain

  Let me know if you want to keep your old domain or would rather trash it!
