How To Change One Word On WordPress Site

  Hey, I’m having trouble figuring out how to just change one word in my header. I’ve read forums saying to change the html and add a <span> tag, but I’m not sure how to do that in a wordpress site using php…
  I’d like to just change one word in my header please help!!
