How to change order of posts
-
I just started here at wp. I was wondering if there was a way to make the first post on top of the page and the second below and so on instead of the newest post on top. For example
on my blog http://gypsyvagabonds.wordpress.com/ I want the titled first post on top of the page.. Make sense?? thanks in advance for any help.
PS> I’m very very new and still learning so please explain in detail.
thanks again

Do you know of any blogs done like this. While it seems ok for mabey the first 50-60 posts i would think it would be ALLOT of chapters and could be confusing.. Any suggestions

A blog is meant to have the most recent posts on top. There is no other alternative to ordering posts other than what I gave you. Posts are filed by date. You can change the posts timestamps but that’s it. There are no other wordpress.com alternatives to achieve what you want.
Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption.
If you have the skills required to hack your own template and maintain your own install you can either self host or hire a web host and get a free download from http://wordpress.org
Here at wordpress.com you cannot access or edit your template files. We are on a multi-user blogging platform and if you could edit then every blog with the same theme would be changed too.
If you want to draw attention to a single post then you could consider putting it on a static page.

Thanks for the info. I do have my own hosting but thought that it would be more simple to keep the blog hosted here. I will do like you said and make a static welcome type page. I havent even thought about drawing attenting to my blog yet. I’d like to have something to look at before ppl actually go look at it.:-)

(1) Random viewing – next blog button
There is a button on the front of your blog you can use to randomly view blogs. It’s on the top righthand corner ->(2) WordPress.com global category/tag pages
At wordpress.com we assign catgories and tags to our posts. These in turn ensure their display on global tag pages along with all other wp.com posts that have the same category/tags.Note that by changing the last “word” or Category/tag you can locate others blogging on any subject.
