How to change owner of domain that was registered externally?

    I have a domain that is registered through an external provider. One of our admins purchased that domain from one of our other admins who is retiring, through the external provider.

    However, within WordPress it still says that owner is the user account for the admin who is retiring. All guides I have seen online for how to change the domain owner are not working, because I have no options when I click on the domain details – it just tells me the date that the domain connection will be auto-renewed.

    I’m new to WordPress so forgive me if I am not understanding or explaining this well. Thanks!

    Firstly, there’s “Domain Registration,” which refers to the place where the domain is originally registered and managed.

    Since your domain is not registered here, you’ll need to collaborate with the domain registrar to transfer ownership of the domain itself. Upon a quick search, it appears that the domain is registered at https://www.rebel.com/. I suggest having the individual who currently owns the domain log in and contact their support team to inquire about the process of transferring ownership of the domain to someone else.
