How to change paragraph width?

I want to change the width of the paragraphs in my blog post, but can’t.

I have tried different themes to achieve this but the width of the paragraph stays the same.

I have also tried adapting a few suggestions for creating extra columns in the Advanced HTML Guide. I inserted <span style=”width:60%;”> into a few lines with no effect.

I want to make the paragraphs more narrow, similar to the width of an online newspaper article – something like this. Any ideas?

Keep trying. If narrow paragraphs are your thing you might want to try a three-column theme.

But the example you give doesn’t appear particularly narrow. It just has no sidebar. Twenty Twelve (demo) might suit your purpose, but remember that you can remove sidebar widgets if you want a large margin area. There are also one-column themes with two large margins though I can’t recall any offhand.
