How to change permalinks in wordpress motif
-
I am using wordpress motif theme and would like to change the permalinks on some of the pages to more succinct versions. I can only find a way of changing the word after the last forward slash (the slug?). So on this example: http://feelbetterclinic.co.uk/feel-better-osteopathy-warwick/osteopathy/ , I would like to either remove ‘feel-better-osteopathy-warwick’ or shorten it. Sorry if this is obvious but your help would be appreciated. Emma

Hi Emma!
This is occurring because the page has a parent page as shown here:
The slug of the parent page is shown before the slug of the actual page. If you would like to display just /osteopathy/, you would need to remove the parent page. Can you give that a try? Just set it back to “no parent.”

Thanks for the help! I thought that was the case but couldn’t find the way to change the parent page slug. My design won’t work if I remove the parent page. I just found a way to shorten the parent page slug in ‘quick edit’ though.

Ah! I understand. The Motif theme does use child pages to display on the grid page. Shortening the parent page slug is going to be your best bet.
Please let me know if you need anything else!
