How to change primary blog in WordPress.com settings
-
On WordPress.com I want to change my primary blog but it won’t let me delete the current one (the wonton one which actually doesn’t exist any more!) or add the new one which is http://victoriahaneveer.com
Why is this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://victoriahaneveer.com does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.com. It appears to be a self hosted WordPress site.
Just to confirm, have you got Jetpack plug in installed on http://victoriahaneveer.com?

http://victoriahaneveer.com/ is not a WordPress.com blog, so you can’t choose it as your primary blog for your WordPress.com account.
You can change the link on your profile if you log in at Gravatar.com and change it there.
Also, this is clearly not the right forum for your technical answers, as that’s not a WP.com blog. I don’t even think it’s WordPress at all.

No because it slowed the page loading time down and seemed to bloat things without actually doing anything much. It is a WP site though.
Oh wait what do you mean self-hosted? Yes I host it elsewhere. Does that mean I can’t change my blog on here to my new (and only) one?

I just clicked on support, I didn’t click on where the question went. Thanks for your answers.

My site is WordPress but I wasn’t clear on the difference between .org and .com
Now I understand. Thanks.

@raincoaster, is this correct? I am able to choose my self-hosted blog as a primary blog on my WordPress.com Account Options screen.

I already answered that. No because it slowed the page loading time down and seemed to bloat things without actually doing anything much. It is a WP site though.
When I comment on other people’s blogs it uses by WP account but comes up with the name of a blog I used to have (and don’t any longer). All I want to do is change my WP.com account settings so my self-hosted blog appears as my main blog and I’d also like to delete the other blogs I set up before but are no longer live. I don’t see the point in commenting on blog posts with a ‘dead’ URL linking to me.

Fair enough.
Your WP.com account needs to know about your self-hosted blog. I am fairly sure, the only way to connect your WP.com account to self-hosted blog is with Jetpack.
