How to change privacy setting.

    I had my blog set to – I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.

    Then I set it to – Allow search engines to index this site.

    However, it won’t change. It is still showing to private and is wanting a username and password from those I invite.

    Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Site Visibility and choose option 3

    I don’t it private. I changed it to – I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.

    But when I share it to my Facebook page or send invitations my share post and invitations show as “Protected Blog Login”.

    That should not be showing if I have it set to I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.

    Thank you. I copied and pasted the wrong line.
    Correction:
    It is showing up as private to those trying to see the blog and the blog is wanting them to login. That is 100% wrong if the setting is set to “Allow search engines to index this site.”.

    1. Try flushing your FB cache but disconnect from FB first http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/

    2. Try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

    Note: RSS Grafitti http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti can be used for posting to Facebook walls if you prefer. RSS Graffiti periodically checks the RSS/Atom feeds that you specify and posts any new entries it finds to the Facebook Walls that you specify. You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination.

    Please note that reconnecting Publicize with Facebook and/or with Twitter does not re-publicize missed posts, but it will work for future posts.

    Hi there,

    I can confirm that your blog is public. However, Facebook tends to save or cache information about blogs, and it can take some time for Facebook to update the information about your blog that it posts when you share links to your blog there.

    One way to help Facebook update its cache faster is to enter the link in its debugger here:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
