May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions -
Here is the link to the plugin.

No your cannot remove the tiny smiley face from your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/smiley-on-your-blog/ It’s an indicator that your stats are being recorded. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ -

You’re welcome. As you are bew to WordPress.com I’d like to point out some useful links. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/ The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page. The search box at the support link provides results from both forum threads and support documentation and I used it to find the answer to your question
Happy blogging! -
Technically, there IS a way to get rid of the smiley face, but if you do that you will not get any stats.

To change the blog name and tagline, go to Settings->General.
That’s how the theme works.

Ok, does it only work with the theme you use, because i tried it on my theme and it didnt work…

So if I see a footer that says Powered by WordPress without a theme name and designer, is that an indication that the blogger is using WordPress software on his/her own server and not WordPress.com?
-
@agrandfamily
Powered by WordPress is linked. Sometimes it is but there are other indicators as well. Why do you ask?
