I changed my cell phone number. My old number is no longer in service. HOWEVER, it is the number WordPress has to send me a 6-gigit security id. I cannot log into my accounts because of that. I created this account just to ask this question.

I do not need to read links that lead me to nothing that helps me.

I have two blogs at the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff). I cannot access those blogs because of changing my cell phone number.

Everything prompts me to log in, which then requires me to enter the security number sent to a dead cell phone number. An endless circle that goes nowhere.

If there is a real person that can help, I would appreciate it.

Please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Is timethief still reading this? Or has timethief thinking my problem is solved with two links? It would be nice for a conversation, thus my question about real people.

Please know that I went to account recovery and was prompted to log in, which then asked me to enter a security number I cannot retrieve, because my cell phone number no longer is active.

That form asks for other information as well. Please complete as much as you can and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you.

I apologize, but I am obviously too ignorant to fill out the form at the link you sent me “action-recovery”. I said it did not recognize my URL, and said the email addresses were the same. I am getting the same run-around to nowhere. I need some help.

All I need to do is change my cell phone number and then I can log in and everything will be fine. Can anyone at WordPress do that for me? I can tell you the old phone number and the new phone number.

I do so apologize for buying a new cell phone without thinking to inform WordPress first. Please forgive my stupidity.

I already tagged this thread for Staff. They will enter the thread when they work their way forward to it. Then they will explain that there is only one means of account recovery, and it is by completing as much information in the account recovery form as you can and submitting it to the Account Recovery team.

    Now it said: Account Recovery
Thanks! We will investigate your details and get back to you soon.
Please check your email regularly, and make sure we don’t get caught by your spam filter.
Please do not send us multiple account recovery requests.

Any idea how long this will be? There were only questions about what key and two-steps I had to prove I was me. All I have is the emails that were sent. I do not understand the language. I am not smart in these matters. That is why I need help and assistance.

I have had similar problems in the past, when being confused about such matters (not with WordPress, but website administration) and the check the box answers never match my specific problem. At least with the websites they had a CS number and a real person to talk to, to help me fix a problem.

No I’m sorry but I don’t know. Staff work through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

How long it takes to clear the support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

I just had an email that said someone is now following my blog. Is there any way to get an idea how long it will be before someone helps me?
