How to change side menu to header menu?

I want to remove the side menu in my theme and make it a header menu, to appear below the topbanner. How to do this?

What you have referred to as a “side menu,” is actually a group of widgets in a sidebar area. You also have a header menu. See the Custom Menus support page to learn how to display not just the home button and links to static pages in that area, but also dynamic category pages, posts, links, etc.

If those widgets appear by default on the Expound theme you may either
    * delete them,
    * replace them with other widgets,
    * leave them and add other widgets, or
    * if the widgets display by default without widgets being present in the sidebar widget area, simply add an empty text widget to the area to prevent the default widgets from displaying.

    Okay. Thanks for your answer.

I am going to read this in the next day or so. I actually downloaded a responsive custom theme from http://underscores.me and named it ‘awesome’.

I then stripped the side menu on the left and all other stuff on the pages, so I only have header and footer. So I want to add a menu and I tried, but can’t see it appear under the header. I must be missing a code to add on the location or so to see the header menu? Maybe I stripped the code that makes the menu appear?

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs like http://claywx.wordpress.com/.
We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.
    Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

Okay my site is hosted on a webhost and I installed the awesome custom theme and stripped everything off the pages.

Where can I get support for this then? I can’t see the menu of the pages I created and added to it.

    Hi there,

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG and need support for that site in the future and if you do not have a WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
