How to change site description in links?

  When I set up my blog, I added a site description / tagline. This comes up when I post links to my blog (for example on Facebook).

  A few days later, I decided I didn’t like the description I had added and changed it on WordPress.

  But the old description is still coming up when I link to my blog.

  How can I change this?

  Hi maratirzah,

  It takes a while for search engines to recognise content changes such as a changed site description. It is similar for social media sites – once you’ve posted a link they will ‘scrape’ the URL and retain this information for some time. If you update a page or post you’ve already shared on Facebook you can use their ‘Sharing Debugger’ to make sure they scrape a fresh copy.
