How to change site's accent colors back when they've randomly reset to default?

    WordPress Twenty Fourteen theme changed accent colors from red to green on my site without my implementing the action and now will not allow me to recover the accent color without purchasing a Custom Design upgrade package. If I activated the theme and had no problem choosing an accent color at the start, how can this happen just a few days later?

    Hi Henri,

    I’m sorry about this. We made a change to allow all users to change background colors without purchasing the Custom Design upgrade and in the process accidentally broke color options that were already part of the theme.

    I’ve reported this to the team working on these improvements so they can correct it soon.

    A quick update. With Twenty Fourteen, since it is a new theme, new bugs are often found. There was an issue discovered regarding the accent color causing issues for accessibility for visually-disabled viewers, so a change to the way colors are selected is being implemented.

    Different color combinations will be available in the Appearance->Customize area soon.

    Hi there. I originally received your responses and at that time no change had been made, so I wanted to give it another few weeks to see if it in that time your team would implement the fixes.

    As of 12/19/13, there is still no solution implemented and the same issue is occurring when I try to select accent colors that I had when I initially activated this theme. The only accent color my site apparently can now have is green. I just want the accents to go back to being red. That’s really all I’m asking. Can you tell me when these bugs will officially be resolved? Thank you.

    Hi Henri,

    The team has not added the free color palettes for Twenty Fourteen yet.

    The feature to set an single accent color has been removed to use the Custom Design color system instead, which resolves the accessibility issue.

    I’m afraid I don’t have a timeline for the free palettes yet.
