How to change the advertisment squares and access the index.php file

I am having an issue with finding the index.php file. I look at my site with firebug (an application for firefox that allows you to see the css, html etc) and it brings up a .php file that has links to the advertisement squares on the site. But i can’t find this actual index.php file ANYWHERE in the folder. I have downloaded pretty much every file through Filezilla (my ftp client) and still have had no luck!What is the file that i see when i ‘view source’ through a web browser. When i find that, i can sort out the ad squares!
