    Hi,

    With the Plane theme applied there are a few background palette options to choose from at Customize > Colors & Backgrounds > Choose a Palette. However, there is no option to display a background image there.

    The image at the top of your pages and posts, behind your site title, is a header image, though it may referred to as a background image in your browser — Firefox, for example, calls it a background image. This image may be changed at Customize > Header Image.
