  How to change the black background on menu buttons?

  It looks kinda weird having black background. Would like to have none, or just having the black background line up with the text instead of lining up left on the line thingy.

  Hey there,

  The following CSS will remove the black background and adjust the text color so it is visible:

  .menu-primary .menu li.current-menu-item>a {
      background-color: white;
      color: #2980b9;
  }

  How does that work for you?
