How to change the BUY button to REGISTER button

  • Unknown's avatar

In Appearance, under Theme Options I have changed the Ticket Purchase/Button setting to Register. Why is the Event page still showing a BUY button beside each event listing?

In Eventbrite I have selected Register and not Buy in those settings.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like the button is now saying “Register” as shown here:

Is this the area you’re referring to?

No. I have a screen capture…how can I send it to you?

You can upload a screenshot to your Media Library. Just let me know once you’ve done that, and I’ll check it out!

I’ve loaded up a screen capture called wp.jpg. I’ve got a new issue now. I mapped my domain name (to the real url) over the weekend and now Eventbrite is not working at all.

Hi there. It looks as though there may be an issue with the way this theme displays the button text. We’re working to resolve this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I’m happy to help you get Eventbrite working again. I’m unable to reproduce the error you’re having now that you’ve mapped your domain name.

Can you try to reset your connection to Eventbrite by following these steps?
    – Going to Appearance > Theme Options
    – Clicking on “Remove” next to “Authentication Status”
    – Clicking on “Connect with Eventbrite” to reconnect

I tried that before and also tried again now and it’s still not working.

It all happened when I mapped the domain name. When I look in the Dashboard > My Blogs I see that it still lists deguzdesigns.wordpress.com as the address instead of unplugandbeoutside.com. Could this be it? Can we change it to unplugandbeoutside.com?

The site is also loading very slowly. Is there a reason why?

    Hi @deguzdesigns!

I’m trying to troubleshoot the events button issue on your site, but can’t find any events. I’ve reset the Theme Options. If you have any upcoming events I can test with, I’d be happy to look into this further!

    Cheers,
    Caroline

I have tons of events in the Eventbrite site. I’ve just tried changing my password in Eventbrite, then removing authentication status and then reconnecting and it’s still not working in WordPress. ARGH!

Hi! I know this must be frustrating. We’re still working on sorting out the issue with Eventbrite. I’ll keep you posted as we make progress on it.

Hi there! We’re still trying to sort out what happened with your Eventbrite connection.

In the meantime, I see that you’ve got events listed on your site. Were you able to get the connection working again, or did you set up a new Eventbrite account?

I’m so sorry we weren’t able to help more with this, but if there’s anything else I can help you with, or if you’d like me to keep you posted when we figure out what went wrong, please let me know.

I opened a new account with Eventbrite…but it’s still not working. The featured images do not list in the sidebar, nor does the calendar work. The EVENT page listing can only populate the first page. If you try to go to page 2 nothing shows up. I have not been happy. I paid for a premium site only to find that nothing works.

    Hi Carissa,

I’m looking into these issues now; if you see some things changing on your site, it’s just me testing various parts.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi Carissa,

It looks like our problem is getting your info back from Eventbrite; it keeps failing when we don’t get a full answer within 5 seconds (this is to ensure that if something goes wrong, we continue to load the page, rather than being stuck waiting on something that will never load). This is why your site is looking empty. It seems to be intermittent (more failing than working).

The theme itself appears to be working fine as expected, so I’m confident that as soon we can solve the connection problem, everything will be good. I’m working with Eventbrite so that we can get it sorted as quick as possible.

    Thanks again for your patience!

Thank you for the update. I have meeting with my client Friday morning and would love to tell them it’s been resolved.

Can you give me an update. I still see nothing working on the site.

    Hi Carissa,

I’m sorry, we haven’t made any progress yet at this point, and are still working on it.

    Hi,

Can you let me know the username for the new account you’ve created with Eventbrite? I’ve got a connection now for your site using the credentials you gave below, I’d just like to be able to pass on your new account user to Eventbrite also.

It’s been over a week since I’ve heard anything and almost a month since this process started. Nothing has changed. I’ve been really disappointed with this whole experience. It’s about a week away from our events happening and I can’t use any features of this site template that you tout. Basically I could’ve used your free template to get the same results achieved with what my current site has. I would like a credit applied to me because I do not feel you are fulfilling what I paid for.
