How to change the order of pages
I would like to keep my home page at the top always, but every new page I create after that I would like to be the 2nd page from the top. I do I arrange pages in the order that I would like them? -
Hi there,
Right now you are creating a new page for each one of your articles instead of posts. You can certainly create your site however you’d like, however blogs are intended to be done so that you update your site with posts on a regular basis and pages are static information which you create once and leave.
In fact, what you described is exactly possible with posts. You can do your first post and set it as “Sticky” (so that it always stays at the top. It’s a setting to the right of the screen right above the “Publish” button). Then every time you post, the new post will go in above the previous one but below the first one.
Now you can also have a list of your most recent posts in the left hand side of your screen by using a widget for “Recent Posts”. Just log in to your Dashboard and go to Appearance >> Widgets and activate it there.
Let me know if all of this made sense to you and what else I can do to help!
