How to change the title of a support topic?

  Hi,

  I’ve just created a support topic in the Themes forum, but want to change the topic title to make it more descriptive.

  Is there a way to change the title of a support topic as I can’t see and edit button?

  Hi James. Once you clicked on Submit, only moderators have access to editing the title or the text of a support topic.

  No editing of post allowed except by staff and moderators (and they do very little editing)

  Thank you both for clarifying, seems strange that you can’t edit your post as this functionality is available on many other forums.

  No problem, I’ll make sure I double check the topic and title before pushing the button next time.

  The one thing that would be a problem with changing a topic title after it is posted, is that the search engines pick up stuff here in the forums almost instantly. I’ve seen them hit the search engines in the time it takes me to put a search term into Google. Changing topic titles could confuse things, and could also cause some 404 error issues.

  @TSP: FYI, I’ve seen cases where, even if the title of the topic was changed, the URL stayed the same, like this sticky post:
