how to change URL of my wordpress website

I just spent an hour of my time banging my head searching how to change my website URL but its so confusing and the options suggested over internet and even on WP help dont exist in UI. I am a computer literate and couldnt be helped. I am sad about those like my mom who dont have a way around computers and if they were in such situation. I request you to help me plus provide correct suggestions on your help pages.
