How to Change URL on Paid .com Account

    I have a wordpress blog, http://www.thenaptimechronicles.com (I paid for the upgrade) and I want to change the URL of the site. Not just as a redirect, but actually change the fixed URL. I walked through the process, and thought that I had done it, but it looks like I just created a redirect through a new .wordpress.com (www.milkandmagpie.wordpress.com) address. I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the .wordpress.com from the Milk & Magpie address. Thanks- Melle

    Hi Melle!

    It looks like you changed the default blog address to milkandmagpie.wordpress.com from thenaptimechroniclesdotcom.wordpress.com. This changes your admin address, but I don’t think it’s what you’re looking for.

    You’re trying to change thenaptimechronicles.com to milkandmagpie.com. To do so, you’ll need to register the new domain following the instructions here:

    Register a New Domain

    Then, you’ll set the new domain as the primary address on the account (instructions included in the link). This way, thenaptimechronicles.com will redirect to milkandmagpie.com.

    Finally, if you no longer want thenaptimechronicles.com, just disable the auto renewal here:

    https://milkandmagpie.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

    Then, the domain will automatically be removed from your account after it expires on 12/14/14.
