How to change users BACK?

  Okay so I followed instructions for changing users.

  Original:
  user 1 Admin of X site

  Then:
  user 1 Admin of X site
  user 2 Admin of X site

  Then
  user 1 Contributor of X site
  user 2 Admin of X site.

  Now I’ve just realised I want to switch the admin BACK to user 1… and I can’t!

  If user 2 tries to delete/change user 1, it says User 2 doesn’t have permission to edit them (be it removal, make admin, make anything). I don’t know if this is a glitch or if there is some other procedure.

  (And obviously user 1 can’t do anything either as they are just a contributor.) Oops!! Can I do anything about my situation at all? What’s the procedure for changing users back?

  Sorry to double post – appreciate if anyone has any ideas.. I’m completely stumped!

  Hi there,

  same issue for me:
  User A create blog A.wordpress.com
  User A add User B as admin
  User B set User A as Contributor

  then:
  * User B can’t set User A back to Admin (or Author or whatever)
  * User A can’t do anything either.

  Is that a bug?!

  No, it’s not a bug. The system has been amended recently to prevent ownership of blogs being transferred without staff intervention because of a LOT of drama over various Club Penguin blogs where the original owners were deleted from the account. You will need to contact staff directly to sort out your problems. Use the support button at the top of the page.
