Hi there–try this:
1. Once you log on to wordpress.com, click on ‘My Sites’.
2. On the left-hand toolbar, scroll down to “Settings” and click that link.
3. Scoll down, then click on “Change Site Address”.
4. Click the green box that says “Primary Domain”
5. Click “Edit Site Address”
6. A window will pop up–hover your mouse over the selfdiscoverywordpresscom.wordpress.com domain. “Change Blog Address” will appear. Click that link.
7. Enter your new website address and confirm!I hope that helps. =)

Thank you so much. If I change the site name will I loose access to my old site data? Or will the old site data cross over to new site?
Also I’m trying to add plugins, and social media buttons. I’m pretty bee st thus.
I’m grateful for your help.

Hi again,
Sorry this took so long! I *thought* I knew the answer to your question, but I wanted to confirm it before I posted it. You will not lose any of your old website data; it’s like changing your phone number Your phone will still have all contacts, photos, etc, but people just go somewhere different to access the same content. You won’t lose anything but the old URL! =)What specifically do you need help with as far as plugins and social media buttons go?
Here is what I found for social media buttons:
Widgets »Social Media Icons Widget
The Social Media Icons Widget lets you add icons for the most popular social networks to your sidebar or other widget area. The icons are linked to your social media profiles, giving your readers access to your latest status updates. For an example of what this looks like, click here. =)
Currently, we support adding icons for the following social networks:
Facebook
Twitter
Instagram
Pinterest
LinkedIn
GitHub
YouTube
Vimeo
If you’d like to add an icon for a different social network, you can do so with a little bit of HTML.Configuring the Widget
Once you add the widget to your sidebar, you can enter your usernames for the social networks you want to add. If you’re not a user on a particular social network, or just don’t want to add an icon for that network, just leave it blank.
Now click “Save”, and visit your blog to admire its new social media icons!
Is that what you were looking for? =)
