How to change/delete Categories

Does anyone know how I can change/delete my Categories? I’ve looked everywhere but can’t find how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Now you will see the “edit” and “delete” options.

If I want to change the name of a category, as opposed to deleting it and having all the posts under that category revert to the default, is there a way to do that? I assume not, since I can’t find anything by searching, but I thought I’d ask just in case I’m missing something. Thanks,

If you want to change a category name, go to Dashboard > Manage > Categories and click edit; you can change the name there. Hope that helps.

Thanks, CJ, but I’m having no luck. i want to consolidate some old categories, but when I try to edit one by changing its name to another, existing, category, I get a “category not updated” error message. Any insight into this will be much appreciated!

You should be able to change them easily, so I’m not sure why you’re getting that message. Is it happening for all categories, ie. if you use a name which doesn’t exist? I don’t think you can use the same category name twice while updating it, so that might be the problem.
Otherwise have you tried clearing your browser cache and trying again? Or trying it in a different browser? Sometimes that can help, particularly if you’re using Safari or IE 6.
