How to close account

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

my friend died recently. He had WordPress blogs and a paid account.

On behalf of his wife, I would like to understand:

    1) Is there a way to save the content of the blogs to CD?

    2) How can she cancel the paid account – either switching to a free account or closing the account? She does not have the corresponding passwords.

    Best regards

You will be helped soon. Thanks!

  • Hi there,

    1) Is there a way to save the content of the blogs to CD?

You can download a copy of your contents by using the export option. Here are the instructions:

    Export Your Website’s Content

    2) How can she cancel the paid account – either switching to a free account or closing the account? She does not have the corresponding passwords.

Please read the steps outlined in our Account Recovery guide, on how to gain access to that account and request a refund:

    Recover Your Account

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

    Hi fstat,
    thank you for your answers.
Unfortunately, it does not help me in my situation.
I do not have access to computer, e-mail, log-in credentials or passwords of the deceased.
I am happy to send you the name and details, but I would rather not to it via a public forum.
Could you show me an option to provide you with this information on a private channel, please.

I’m sorry for your loss. It is difficult to access an account/site without the correct login details (and just the work of a moment if those details had been written down somewhere). This may or may not help you: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deceased-user/

  • @3bolero35 if you are able to provide the details mentioned here, let us know and we’ll reach out via email:
