How to connect FTP acount on wordpress.com
-
I followed the isntructions here http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_FileZilla but I cant get passed the “If you do not already have an FTP account on your server, use your cPanel or website administration tool to set one up — it will have all the information needed.” How do I set this up? Also what port should I be using in FileZilla to connect to wordpress. Also, is there a specific address where my files are stored on my website?

We’re just a blogging service here, not a traditional hosting provider, so we don’t allow FTP access.
Can you tell us what you needed FTP access for?

Mainly just for an easier way to upload files. Also to upload a theme that I downloaded from the wordpress site but have custamized the banner and such. I will soon start working for some people who seem to want a lot on their WP site. Is there another way that I am overlooking? Thanks for the response. Also, how come http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_FileZilla suggests that one could use FileZilla?

I’m sorry, but themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org.
