how to connect my domain for free with WordPress?

  How can i connect my domain for free with WordPress? I thought the site was free to use for a year for blogging, but when I try to connect my domain name: proverbial-matters.com, it asks to pay for a plan along with it. Please help

  You can’t use a custom domain with a free site. A Personal plan or higher is necessary.
