How to connect my domain with wordpress

    I tried to connect the domain but it is asking me to purchase the plan of WordPress and it is not allowing me to continue with my own

    Hi there,

    Yes that is correct, frees sites on WordPress.com must use the “wordpress.com” domain extension, and also show ads to help cover our operating costs. However can connect a custom domain and use it as your site address, though it does require a plan with us.

    Any of our plans will allow you to connect your custom domain, and if you choose the annual (instead of monthly option) you will get a free domain transfer included for added savings. All our plans will also turn off the ads we show on free sites.
