I do not know why this thread is tagged for Staff.
We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

It is not the image I am worried about it is the text. and it is not just on social media the same thing is displayed if I add a link in an email.

Hi there,
Emails don’t show automatic excepts if you paste a link inside an email, so I’m not sure what you are speaking about here. An email can only contain what you put into it.
If your email provider does in fact add automatic previews of links, that’s something they do on our end and we have no control over what that preview would contain.
I ran your site’s URL through the Facebook debugger as @timethief told you to do, and that has updated the image that displays.
The text that shows is the meta description that you set under My Site ->Settings ->SEO. If you update the text there, and then run the URL thought Facebook’s debugger again, it should update the sharing preview as well.
If you remove the meta description entirely, the preview will use your site’s tagline, or the custom excerpt of your front page if you have one set.
