How to convert HTML to Pages, Word, or PDF?

Howdy. I work on a Mac.

Here’s what I want to do, though I don’t know if it can be done. I would like to copy a blog article from the text editor into a .txt document and then convert it into a Pages, Word, or PDF document with all of the formatting translated into the style format of the specific document. For example, I want words that are marked <em></em> converted into actual italicized words, words marked by <b></b> converted into bolded words, etc.

Can this be done? If so, how? Is there Mac software that can accomplish this? I’ve tried the online converters, but all I have tried simply retain the HTML coding. Thanks for your help!

  • Hey there,

Importing WordPress content into another program will depend on the software’s support of the content you are transferring. I am not aware of any software specifically that imports WordPress content natively, though it is worth noting that WordPress supports copying and pasting from most sources, including Word documents.

In this case, I think the easiest thing to do would be to use an export plugin to export your page or post content. You can find compatible plugins under Plugins > Add New Plugin or by clicking here. The Creator plan is required to install third-party plugins:

    Hope this helps!
