How to copy a complete wordpress.com site to another
-
Hi there!
I´m using the free WP plan and write every year about my cycling tour.
As I´ve found my prefered layout and the “surrounding sites” f.i. disclaimer, about and what I´m using on my trip, I´m looking for help…What is the easiest way to duplicate to complete blog to another one and than delete only the posts, change the trip destiny – and than start with new posts about the new trip?
Is the new editor helpful? I couldn´t find something on the support site.
The last years I´ve been copying it by using the export/import function but after that I´ve had to rewrite many sections as they weren´t copied.
Would be happy to get some help – thanks a lot! :-)

Hi Michael,
What you’re describing is commonly referred to as cloning a site, but that’s not something we offer on WordPress.com. Doing an export/import of the content is the closest thing we have, and as you’ve found, that only moves the content itself, not the theme and configuration of the site.
The only way to clone a full site on WordPress.com would be using a migration plugin on our Business Plan, and both sites would need to be on the plan for that to work.
