How to copy & paste original CSS style sheet?
-
Hi,
I must either be very stupid or something is wrong with my computer. I’ve bought the custom design upgrade and am trying to edit CSS. I go to appearances–>customize–>CSS and the CSS style sheet editor comes up. I’m apparently now supposed to delete the “Welcome to CSS! etc” text and copy and paste the original CSS style sheet in this blank space. Makes sense. So I pull up the page I want to edit–my homepage–and right-click on the photo–it’s a sticky post–to pull up “inspect elements,” which I click. All the html pops up. Now I’m apparently supposed to copy the entire page of html to begin edit. But my computer only allows me to copy one line at a time, even if I click ctrl +A.
So how on earth am I supposed to get all that stuff into the CSS editor? The blog I need help with is http://www.juliaderek.com
Thanks in advance!

No, you’re not supposed to copypaste the original CSS of the theme, and you don’t copypaste HTML into the CSS editor. See this post of mine for more:

Pardon me. Will you please assist here? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/urgent-colorado-flood-related-issue?replies=17 -
Thanks so much for this answer. I read your post and accessed all the html in the original style sheet. But how am I supposed to find the little detail in all that html that I want to copypaste from this page and then edit in the CSS editor? I’m somewhat familiar with html, but it seems there must be a much quicker way to find it than scan all that html for it…
Thanks in advance.

Think I figured out that you’re simply supposed to write the specific CSS code for the change you want to make in the CSS editor.
