How to copy/paste a pdf file from a private blog to a public blog

As a virtual university, we have private course content located on a private blog. We would like to move the material, such as pdf files to this or that private student blog. We would like to copy/paste. We learned the trick from the Forums to use the html editor (text editor) to copy/paste a web page from our private Blog#1 to private blog #2. However, neither the pdf files nor images transfer to the second private blog (most likely because they are located in private blog #1 which is not open to the viewers of Blog #2.)
Question: Is there a way to centrally store media files on a blog or page not on a public web page and link to them from a newly created private blog? WE would like our students to be able to access course content but not the general public.

Hi there,
The only real thing that I could suggest would be for you to store these files with some third party such as Dropbox. The files wouldn’t be browsable via any browser, however you could link to them from either/any of the blogs.
Unfortunately that is the only thing which i can think of.

Great idea and we are thinking of something like that, only hesitation was that the Dropbox links are pretty long and tedious last time we looked, maybe better now, we will check it and many thanks for the answer.

They probably still are, but you can also use URL shorteners such as Bitly, x.co, or even create your own if you have some web space and a mysql database using yoURLs to make it easier; plus as a result most of these link shorteners provide additional tracking of the links, allowing you to know how many clicks each link has had. Pretty handy!
