How to correctly edit DNS records so my email can function?
-
I mapped my wordpress blog to custom domain i have with Afrihost, so that my website displays my custom domain in stead of wordpress address.
Afrihost now sent me the information I have to enter on wordpress side to edit/create new DNS & MX records, in order for my e-mail at custom domain, (email visible only to moderators and staff), (hosted by Afrihost) can work. I can’t understand how to correctly edit DNS & MX records on your side. Can you please do it for me?? I’ve been struggling for months now to get this right. Please help me asap I can’t wait anymore for my e-mail to workThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Have you seen our doc on adding custom DNS records?
If you tell me what your records should be, I can take a look at what you have. :)

Hi Shawna,
Thank you for the response. I have read it many times but i still don’t know where to put which info.
Would appreciate it very much if you could have a look for me. Can I post the DNS information on here?
-
Yep! You can post it here. If you’re uncomfortable with that, you can send them in an email to help@wordpress.com. If you do that, include my name (Shawna) in the message and let me know that you’ve sent an email so I can go find it in our email queue. :)

Thank you Shawna I just sent you the e-mail. your name is in the subject line
Kind regards

Thanks! One more step you’ll need to take is to remove your Email forwarding from the “Email” tab in the domain editor:

Alright. I’ve added those records.
You also had a more complicated MX record already saved in your settings. I’ll email it to you, but can you confirm that you do need this record? Otherwise, having an extra MX record could mess things up. :)
