How to costumize image size presented?

  • Unknown's avatar

I see that is possible to present image in a post small or full size, but i need images a bit smaller, and openning only with clik in mouse on a defierent page. Strange is that images i posted more than 1 year ago can be seen like that, but new images i post now present full size, and they are so big that berely can be seen in screen.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @sadwolf,

I did some testing on my end and it looks like on all of your recent blog posts you have put the images in the body of the blog post itself instead of setting them as the “Featured Image” – this changed the behavior of the post when it shows up on your “Home” page.

There’s a great article on “Featured Images” and how to set them for both your pages and posts here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

Trying placing the same images you have used in the body of the post as “Featured Images” for all of these previous posts and let me know if that fixes the issue for you! Look forward to hearing back from you :)

    Hello zyousafi

Thank you for the answer. In this theme the feature image just appear on the top of the blog as a header. Dont change nothing else. I need to post the picture as usual or it doesnt appear on post.

If you see old posts like this one: https://wordpress.com/post/sadwolf.wordpress.com/274
you can see that picture has a link that make picture bigger in a page with the black background. And they are not feature images.

If you see the 2017 posts you see that this doesnt happen, and its no use to make it feature or they appear on header.

This might happen because the older pictures where posted in a diferent theme. So my question is, how can i make 2017 pictures behave same way in this theme?, or, if cant, wish free themes i can use to make picrures behave like i need?

  • Hi @sadwolf,

Okay so an example of the old post really helped here. So what you need to do is make use of WordPress.com’s Image Links feature. There’s a great article on Image Links here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/image-links/#link-to-an-image-url and I’ve specifically bookmarked the Link to an Image URL section in the article.

You can get the URL for any image from the Media section of your WordPress.com dashboard. Once you have the URL then you can follow the instructions in the article and voila! :)

I’ve tested it on the same theme you are using and it works perfectly! Let me know if you need any additional help.

    Hello zyousafi

I follow your tips and descover what i really wanted. In fact, what i needed, its much more easy than all that.

We can go to the edit pictures, select the picture,
click on link button and link adress already there, just need to sign (Open link in a new window/tab) and its done.

Can even do this after post done. This way picture will open in full quality in a difernt window.

I just cant understand why my old posts do that without need do the previouse link edition. But nevermind its solved.

    Thank you very much.

  • Hey @sadwolf,

I am glad that you were able to figure it out and it’s great to hear that my tips helped! :) Have a good one and take care!
