how to create a table

  we’ve looked extensively through support FAQ and on the web and can’t find a way to create an html table on a blog. This seems like a very basic functionality that is included with most WYSIWYG editors, most web based editors as well. There are several html table wordpress plugins available but none seem available on wordpress.com. Are we missing how to actually create a table without writing html for our blogs?

  Hello there!

  I highly suggest this HTML table generator:

  http://www.quackit.com/html/html_table_generator.cfm

  You can grab the HTML code that you generate, and then paste it into your Text tab in your post or page editor. You can add content to the fields of you table in either the Text or the Visual tab…whatever you’re most comfortable with!

  thanks, but that’s not really a WYSIWYG editor and still requires going into the html to make updates and actually edit the layout. i’ve seen some really nice WYSIWYG editors that would be nice if wordpress.com integrated one into the blog editor

  I know it’s not…and I agree! It would be a handy tool. I will pass your suggestion along to our staff.

  However, I highly recommend also leaving your thoughts about this on our Ideas forum. It’s handy for our developers to see what our users want directly!
