How to create a "TXT record" (non-technical person here)

I have set up an email account for my blog via GoDaddy, and need to create a “TXT record”. Here are the instructions:

Log in Information — To create your domain’s TXT records, you’ll need to log in to the company that has your domain and information on how to create a TXT record.
    TXT Records —
    Name TXT Value

    @ MS=ms88095207

Can I get some assistance with this?

    Hello there!

This document will walk you through the process of configuring your GoDaddy email here at WordPress.com:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/add-godaddy-email/

Follow the instructions given, and then check in with me. It can take up to 72-hours for changes to your domain’s settings to work properly online. So, don’t worry if things do not work immediately.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Hi there, I found the 2 MX domains for mail but when I clicked “edit”, the information at the link provided was the same info that was already in those fields “smtp.secureserver.net. with priority 0” and “mailstore1.secureserver.net. with priority 10” respectively.

I called Go Daddy and rep sent me the following info (sorry, don’t see an attachment function here) which I’m not sure how to interpret either:

Log on to your hosting provider or third-party domain name system manager (usually the same place you bought your domain)
Locate the CNAMEs and set the following:

    · Name:
    autodiscover

    Target:
    autodiscover.outlook.com

    · Name:
    sip

    Target:
    sipdir.online.lync.com

    · Name:
    lyncdiscover

    Target:
    webdir.online.lync.com

    · Name:
    email

    Target:
    email.secureserver.net

    · Name:
    msoid

    Target:
    clientconfig.microsoftonline-p.net

Locate the MX and set the following:

    · Host:
    @

    Priority:
    0

    Target:
    invisiblewell-com.mail.protection.outlook.com

Locate the TXT and set the following:

    · Name:
    @

    TXT Value:
    MS=ms88095207

    · Name:
    @

    TXT Value:
    v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

    Danielle,

I added all the records that you pasted into your last note.

    Take a look at:
    https://dannelle4.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

Click Edit Domain → Edit DNS. Then, compare those records to what GoDaddy provided. Make sure they match.

We’ll have to give these records the requisite 72-hours to see if the propagate properly.

Please be in touch, and let me know how things progress. Many thanks!

aargh. it’s still not working. When I contacted GoDaddy they said they don’t know what wordpress requires to forward email. I’m stuck in domain limbo hell…..

    Dear Robyn,
I’m still not sure how to connect email with WordPress but it is now functioning thru GoDaddy and I will make that work. Thank you kindly for your help!

    Hello there,

I wanted to follow up with you. As long as your email is up and running, and you are functional, that’s great. If you still need assistance, please let me know!
