how to create an image carousel with links

    I run a fashion blog http://www.tailoredtantrums.com and at the end of each post I like to give my readers a “visual” fashion option to purchase what I am wearing or another similar option. In most cases what I may be wearing is no longer available.

    So my question is: how do I set up an image carousel that can be linked to other sites.
    The main purpose is a quick visual of a garment, because a lot of times people don’t want to take the time to clink on a link with no image. They need a visual so they may make an instant decision.

    Hi there,

    One potential option would be to setup an image gallery as explained here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

    You could link the individual items to other pages where readers could purchase the merchandise. However, the links will not work for slideshows. Images in slideshows can’t be linked to other pages. You could use one of the other gallery types though. Would that work?

    I gave it a try with linking photos through a different gallery type, however when you save a photo from a website(example Nordstrom’s) the image will become different sizes and then becomes messy.

    Here is an example of another fashion blogger and how she created a slideshow of options. You will see at the end of her post a large selection of necklace options.

    Thanks for pointing out the demo of what you’re looking for! I actually misspoke earlier. Regardless of what type of gallery you select, it isn’t possible to link the images to external sites just yet at WordPress.com. I’m sorry for the misinformation.

    However, if you’re just referring to tailoredtantrums.com (not tailoredtantrums.wordpress.com), then you could probably use a plugin to do this since plugins are allowed on self-hosted sites. For example, this plugin looks like it could do the job:

    Could you take a look and let me know if that accomplishes what you’re looking for?
