How to create free website?

  I have signed up on wordpress and started to add content. But when I click on launch, why does it bring me to options where I have to pay? I remember I can get a free website like name.wordpress.com?

  A number of people seem to be posting here with similar questions. Have you already created a free site with a subdomain ending in .blog or .wordpress.com?
  If so make sure that after clicking the “Launch site” button that you leave blank the field at the top that says “Enter a name or keyword”. Instead just click on “skip purchase” at the bottom right next to your new free address and then click on continue with free on the next page.

  hi, yes I did that, but it brings me to a page that asks me to choose a plan. There is no option to proceed as free.

  Hi there, At the bottom of that page, there should be listed the free WPcom address you chose with a link on the right to “Skip Purchase”.
