How to create logins for my clients to access content

  Hi all

  I put this in as a support request but the answer seemed to require customers to have a wordpress user login. What I want to achieve is a simple login page on my site for clients to gain access to a restricted area once they have paid me. I don’t need ecommerce as I am going to invoice clients who can access once paid by bank transfer. Each client will have their own login and password.

  Can anyone explain to a wordpress newbie how to do this?
