How to create NEW PAGE [ not post ] without a reply (comment) box ?

  Hi guys,

  I am wondering how I can create a new page in WordPress … that does NOT have the reply ( comment box ) at the bottom.

  I did something in the past to get rid of it when making new pages…but cannot remember how.

  Help appreciated,

  Hi Andrew,
  Create a Page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.

  You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Important Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.   you are great and I appreciate the detailed response. I hated to have to post for such a simple question.

  In the end I was doing something rather dumb … i was unchecking the ‘discussion’ box in the “Screen options’ tap at the top of the new page … hoping it would eliminate the comment box. What I did not realize was … i was removing the two options at the bottom of the newly created page … that allow me to add/remove the comment box … and or ping backs.

  oops.

  So i read the articles you referred me to and now I now lots more about this issue.
