Hi there, if you go to the Daily Post project page that you are participating in, there should be an explanation just under the post that explains how to create your pingback.
Want to participate? Publish a new post on your blog interpreting the theme. Create a pingback to this challenge and we’ll list your post below. Show instructions.
Here’s an example from the current Weekly Photo Challenge. When I click the Show Instructions this appears:
Pingbacks are easy! Just copy and paste the code below into the HTML tab of your post editor and you should be all set.
Please note that sometimes it takes a little while for your post to show up in our grid.<a href="https://dailypost.wordpress.com/photo-challenges/glow/">Glow</a>It’s even easier if you are following the Daily Post in the Reader as they provide a link which creates the post and the pingback.
Let us know if you need more help with this.

Is it after pasting, they i start my write up, cos I’ve tried it and i do not know whats next to do
-
Is it after I’ve copied and pasted it, then i start my write up? i copied it and didn’t know what to do next

Hello again, it doesn’t really matter where the pingback appears in your response to the Daily Post challenge, as long as it is there. Maybe you can get a better idea by clicking on the other posts that are participating in the challenge and see what those folks have done.
Hope that helps.

Hi @evansmaraah
By chance, are you able to follow the same steps as an example mentioned by @justjennifer above?
Pingbacks may take a little while before it populates up. Have a lookup if pingbacks are enabled on individual posts on the Discussion module, when adding or editing a post.

Hi @evansmaraah – your above site is using the standalone WordPress software so you’ll want to seek help in the ORG forums.
Standalone WordPress and WordPressdotcom (where we are) are different entities with separate documentation and support forums; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You can find all the support information for sites using the WordPress (org) software at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.
Best wishes.
@edwinho89 while we do our best to help everyone here, we run a highly customized version of the WP software. People using the standalone WP software are best assisted (in most cases) by us pointing them to the Codex/Forums at ORG. Thanks for your help.
