How to Create Separate Home and Posts Pages

Hi there. I’ve recently started a travel blog with the ‘Oxygen’ theme. I am trying to set it up so that I have a static homepage with my posts showing there under ‘Recent Articles’ and a separate ‘Posts’ page. I’ve created a static page called ‘Home’ and want to set that as the front page (although temporarily I’ve just allowed recent posts to be the default page as otherwise it looks confusing to people). I want the home page to look like the Oxygen theme as it is advertised on wordpress with the one big image across the page with recent posts beneath and a slider bar of images. However when I do trying setting my ‘Home’ page as the default page, it just shows one post and doesn’t show anything under ‘Recent Arcticles’. So, I created a page called ‘Post’ and set that as my ‘Posts Page’. I then went to my website to see what that looks like and there’s just an empty page.. my posts don’t show up there.
Any suggestions on how I can make this work? I’ve read other threads that say to set the front page as ‘Home’ and then leave the second one blank as the posts will ‘know’ to go under the ‘Posts’ page, but that didn’t work either. Others said you had to set the Page Template to ‘Blog’, but the only Page Template options I have are ‘Default’, ‘Full Width’ or ‘Showcase’. Any help would be much appreciated!

The first place for all information on working with a specific theme is the theme’s Showcase page. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/
You need to set the static front page (regardless of what you call it) to use the Showcase page template to use the slider.

Yes, that’s great, thank you. I’ve read through the Oxygen Theme Page several times and am still struggling. I’ve got the Showcase Page image and slidebar working great… but I would like my recent posts to show up underneath under “Recent Articles” and would also like the posts to be on my “Posts” page. At the moment, the only place the posts show up is in the Showcase slider on the home page and as a list on the left side column. The “Posts” page is empty.
If you could provide any help it would be much appreaciated!

Since you only have 4 posts in total on your site so far, you’ll need to publish more posts to populate that area of the Showcase template. Post often! :)
Looking at your Posts page, indeed it is empty. Are you certain you have set it as the Posts page in the Dashboard>Settings>Reading settings under “Front Page Displays”?
