How to customize Search Results

Hi – I am creating a website for a school. I added Groovy Hamburger Menu to my website to make everything look more sleek and clean as to having all the tabs on the homepage. With that being said, the Groovy Hamburger Menu Plugin comes with a search button and I love it… however, whenever I search for information about the site, the search results look more like blog posts and aren’t helpful. I don’t know how to switch it or code it correctly.

What I’m looking for the page to do, is come up more as a google search with just title of the page instead of everything extra like you see in the screenshot.

Any advice is helpful. I tried contacting the plugin creators but doesn’t seem like they’ve been active since last year :/
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

The site southernwake.org appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on GoDaddy Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/southernwake.org+dns

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and GoDaddy also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

Hope that points you in the right direction!
